In advising freshmen, particularly, it will be helpful to study the information provided in the folder: the student's high school background, including course work, class rank, and activities.
The advising folder should contain the following information:
High School Transcript

Includes course work and levels, grades, class rank, and possibly activities. There is generally a key on the transcript that provides an explanation of codes.
SAT Scores
GPA

Located on the inside of the folder. This GPA is assigned by The Office of Admissions at Saint Anselm based on courses, high school, etc.

The student's high school transcript may also have a GPA, assigned by the high school.
Advanced Placement (AP) Credit Evaluation (if applicable)

Saint Anselm College participates in the Advanced Placement Program of the College Entrance Examination Board.

Students who score a "4" or "5" on the AP examinations may be granted advanced placement and credit in the appropriate subject(s). In certain circumstances, advanced placement and credit may be granted for AP scores of "3".

This evaluation will indicate the name of the examination, the Saint Anselm College course for which it will exempt/count as, course count awarded, and the requirement it meets.
International Baccalaureate (IB) (if applicable)

The College recognizes credit earned through the International Baccalaureate (IB) for appropriate scores (5, 6, or 7) on the Higher Level examinations.

Credit will not be given for Standard Level examinations.
