When will we receive a bill? When is the payment due?
The fall semester tuition bills will be mailed on July 16, 2009, and payment is due by August 2, 2009. The spring semester bill will be mailed on December 17, 2009, and payment will be due by January 4, 2010.
How much do I deduct for the Stafford Loan Program?
If the student has completed the loan counseling paperwork and the master promissory note, one half of the Stafford loan amount will be disbursed to the school 15 days before the beginning of the fall semester. The balance will be disbursed at the beginning of the spring semester. Your lender will retain a percentage of the loan amount to cover guarantee /origination fees.Please check with your lender if you have any questions about their fees.
How much do I deduct for the PLUS loan?
One half of the PLUS loan will be disbursed 15 days before the beginning of the fall semester. The second disbursement will be received in January for the spring semester. You may deduct the first disbursement from the balance due for the fall semester, and the second disbursement from the balance due for the spring semester. This loan is also subject to an origination/processing fee. Please check with your lender for the exact percentage.
My child applied for an alternative education loan. How is that applied?
Half of the loan amount will be disbursed before the beginning of each semester. You may deduct the fall semester disbursement from your July statement balance.
How do I deduct outside scholarships my child received?
If your son/daughter received a scholarship that will be sent to the college for the fall semester, you can deduct the amount from the balance due. However, you cannot deduct a scholarship, or that portion of a scholarship, that is applicable to the second semester. Please forward a copy of the scholarship award letter to both the Business Office and the Office of Financial Aid.
I have enrolled in the monthly payment plan program. Will I still receive monthly statements?
Even if you have enrolled in the monthly payment plan program, you will continue to receive monthly statements from the college. These statements will confirm receipt of your payments, and they will also enable you to ensure that the budget you have set up is sufficient. If necessary, you can increase or decrease your plan.
