Lenten programs and services 2008

(while the college is in session)

  • Ash Wednesday - Celebration of the Eucharist and distribution of Ashes.The college community will have the opportunity to gather for mass on  Ash Wednesday, February 6th
  • Mass schedule is as follows:

          *11:30a.m. in the Lady Chapel, Lower Abbey Church

           *5:00p.m Monastic Mass with the Choir in the Abbey Church

For those who are unable to attend at these times there will be an additional mass at 10:00p.m. in the Lady Chapel, Lower Abbey Church

  • CRS Global Hunger Awareness Tour~ Meal and Discussion 
    12:30 p.m. Thursday, February 7th President’s Dining Room. RSVP asmedile@anselm.edu

  • Adoration
  • * Sunday, February 17th at 3:00 p.m.
  • * Thursday, March 13th at 8:00 p.m.

  • Lenten Daily Mass 
    There will be an 11:30a.m. daily Mass offered in the Lady Chapel for the Lenten Season. All are encouraged to take this liturgical season as a chance to move closer to God and daily Mass is a simple commitment that can aid this process.

  • Almsgiving Rice Bowls 
    Operation Rice Bowl begins with Ash Wednesday. Please pick up a Rice Bowl and give alms this Lent by collecting loose change or offering a sacrifice of your second cup of coffee. A small consistent offering can become a large gift. See Fr. Anselm Smedile, O.S.B. x 7276 or asmedile@anselm.edu

  • Lenten E-mail Reflections 
    Watch your e-mail for a chance to sign-up for the daily Lenten reflections. These will also be posted on the Campus Ministry website. plucier@anselm.edu

  • Day of Reflection
    Sunday, February 17th, Campus Ministry will sponsor a day of prayer and reflection with a Lenten theme. Mark the date and watch for a schedule to be sent to you.

  • Rosary: 
  • *Sunday, February 17th at 2:00 p.m. in the Byzantine Chapel.

    *Wednesday evenings at 9:30 p.m.

  • Reconciliation
    Monday’s and Wednesday’s, 4:30-5 p.m.; Sunday’s 6:15 -6:45 p.m. or by appointment (Lower Church)

Lenten Food Drive – February 6-22nd Boxes for drop off of food will be in various locations on campus. All non-perishable foods will be delivered to the N.H. Food Bank. Contact Sr. Pauline at plucier@anselm.edu for more information.
