During some holiday periods, a festive twist is added to both menu and decor, taking the student out of the everyday college atmosphere and into a realm of the day's celebrations. Special menus may be introduced and a trivia game can sometimes result in winning a Sweetheart cake on Valentine's Day or pot of chocolate gold coins on Saint Patrick's Day.
FAMILY WEEKEND

2008's Family Weekend cake was another hit. Reflecting the "Cruise" theme, the bake shop team chose a cruise ship as its setting. The huge cake was completely edible, from swimming pool to casino tables scattered around the board. The handmade creation was made up of 28 sheet cakes, 150 pounds of icing, and took 11 hours to assemble.
CHRISTMAS
During Christmas the dining hall and servery area are dawned with fresh holly and flowers. The tall arched windows along the entrance hall display fresh wreaths while kissing balls hang from the ceiling. A tall tree sits proudly at the head of the dining hall with a toy train chugging at its base.
