Federal Work Study Positions: 2 to 3
Duties: Prepare gallery for upcoming exhibitions and events, paint walls, handle/install artwork, arrange furniture, clean gallery and supply areas. Greet, assist, and guide (ensure safety of) gallery guests, serve refreshments, answer questions, take attendance, guard artwork, refer sales and other issues to Director and/or Assistant Curator. Label and sort gallery invitations, perform light word processing. Must be able to work Tuesday 1:00 - 4:00, Wednesday 10:00 - 12:00, Thursday 12:30 - 2:30, Saturday some on call hours within 10:00 - 4:00. Opportunity to work additional substitute and on-call hours throughout the semester.
Qualifications: An interest in the arts, an ability to do manual labor, work independently and take direction. Painting and general manual work experience (using a hammer, drill, vacuum, etc.), as well as having a talent for space and design.
