Opening of School 2006- Student Support
Instructions for Norton Anti-Virus installs/upgrades
We are currently installing the newest version of Symantec Corporate Edition v10.1.0.394
Students will live updates from server NAV10S2 (on campus) and Symantec’s Live Update Servers.

Upgrades
If student has a copy of our 10.0.0.X version just install the newest version from
http://studentav.anselm.edu
Upgrading from Norton Corporate Edition 7.x – 9.x
1. Turn off System Restore
To manually turn off System Restore, follow these steps:
- Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
- Click the System Restore tab.
- Click to select the Turn off System Restore check box (or the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box), and then click OK.
- Click Yes when you receive the prompt to the turn off System Restore.
2. Uninstall Norton software using Add/Remove Programs
To remove a program that is installed on your computer, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
- In the Currently installed programs box, click the program that you want to remove, and then click Remove.
- If you are prompted to confirm the removal of the program, click Yes.
Go to http://studentav.anselm.edu to install new version.
If you cannot remove the software as above, use the NONAV tool provided and run the NONAV.BAT file – this will remove the above versions of Norton Anti-virus, then install new from
http://studentav.anselm.edu
3. Turn System Restore back on
To turn on System Restore, follow these steps:
- Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
- Click the System Restore tab.
- Click to clear the Turn off System Restore check box (or the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box), and then click OK.
