Blackboard Basics
Description: Blackboard is a course management system that enables educators to manage course content and enhance in-class instruction. In this hands-on session, you will learn basic Blackboard skills and set up a Blackboard course site. Discussion topics include:
- Adding/removing files
- Managing material using folders
- Adding web resources to a course site
- Customizing a course menu
- Applying unique design to a course site
- Adding/removing students

Blackboard Intermediate I: manage course assignments and gradebook
Description: This hands-on session will show you how to manage course assignments and gradebook through Blackboard. We will demonstrate the process of creating assignments, collecting assignments through Blackboard, and creating and managing gradebook. Discussion topics include:
- Creating assignments
- Viewing/downloading assignments
- Providing feedback to individual assignments
- Creating grading items in Gradebook
- Weighted grades
- Exporting Gradebook as an Excel document

Blackboard Intermediate II: manage assessment and feedback
Description: This hands-on session will show you how to use Blackboard’s assessment features to evaluate learning and gain students’ feedback. We will demonstrate the process of creating tests and surveys to collect student data. Discussion topics include:
- Creating single test
- Creating a test pool, and creating multiple tests from the pool
- Creating survey
- Access test and survey results

Digital Audio Editing Basics
Description: Participants of Digital Audio Editing will learn to operate supplied digital voice recorders, transfer sound files to a PC or Mac, convert sound files to mp3’s, Edit the mp3 files, and finally burn files to a CD.
- Record speech with Digital Voice Recorder
- Transfer sound file from recorder to PC or Mac
- Covert wma (Windows Media Audio) files to mp3 files using Switch
- Edit mp3 file with Audacity audio editing software
- Create an audio CD
- Learn what can be done with sound in mp3 file format

Description: In this session you will learn how to use Smartboard in the classroom to create engaging lectures. Smartboard will help you by projecting your computer screen onto the board and making it interactive. Discussion topics include:
- Using the Smartboard tools, such as the pen
- Using Smartboard to interact with your computer applications such as PowerPoint, Web, Blackboard
- Writing notes in digital ink
- Saving your lecture notes to share later
