The Residence Hall Council (RHC) was established in 2008 with the purpose of creating a forum of exchange for student's ideas and concerns in the residence halls. RHC seeks to provide a direct link between the administration and student body as well as other campus organizations. To this end RHC provides opportunities for residents to interact with one another through social and educational activities, including community service opportunities.
Last year RHC was involved in surveying residents regarding common room spaces, to see if these spaces were being utilized by students and what improvements could be made. RHC made arrangements with Webster House in Manachester to bring children to dinner on campus followed by Seussical the Musical. Additionally, RHC assisted the Office of Residential Life and Education by providing tours of rooms and apartments across campus prior to housing lottery.
Currently RHC is represented by the following buildings: Alumni Hall Streets, Brady Hall, Bertrand Hall, Croydon Court, Hilary Hall, and Saint Mary's Hall. All RHC meetings are open to any student on campus, but only elected representatives have voting privelages. Those persons interested in finding more information about RHC, the meeting schedule, becoming involved, or becoming an elected representative should contact one of the advisors. Currently the advisors for RHC are: Zachary Irish, Resident Director; and Michelle Aellen, Resident Director.
Dominic Hall Council was formed in the Fall of 2009 and just held elections for their executive board. They are currently getting under way with fundraising opportunities, t-shirt designs, and alternative weekend programs. Those interested in becoming involved should contact Resident Director Peter Leung.
