What size sheets do I need to bring for my mattress?
Residence Halls have standard size twin mattresses, with the exception of Joan of Arc and Dominic that need 36" x 80".

Can I use my student ID card for my laundry?
Laundry services are coin-operated.  It costs $1.00 for a wash and $1.00 to dry.  Each residence hall is equipped with laundry machines.

What is the intervisitation policy?
Saint Anselm College’s first year residence halls are not co-ed, but provide for intervisitation during specific times each day. All residence halls have a common lounge where guests may be received during non-intervisitation hours. Guests of residence halls of the opposite sex can visit beginning at 5:00pm.  These guests must leave by 11:00pm Sunday through Thursday and 2:00am Friday through Saturday.

Can I have a pet?
No pets, including fish, are allowed in the residence halls at any time.

How is telephone service arranged?
Your telephone number is on the back of your residence hall room door, as well as any other telephone information/services that you will need. You should bring a telephone for all residents of your room to use.  You will receive an FAC (forced authorization code) which will be in your post office box on campus. You dial in the long distance number, following the dialing instructions. Phone mail information is distributed in mailboxes.

How do I receive and send mail on campus?
All first year students are issued an available mailbox. To obtain a key for the box, a key can be purchased at the mailroom for $5.00/nonrefundable, lost keys are $5.00. That will be your mailbox for the entire stay at the College. You will be sent a newsletter that describes available services and hours.

Can I bring a refrigerator?
One fridge is allowed in each room and must be less than 40" high and no larger than 2.5 cubic feet.

What is the policy for automobiles?
First year students may have vehicles on campus, provided they purchase a permit and are  restricted to parking in the Kavanaugh Extension Lot or the Baroody Lot at all times.

When will I find out more about my housing assignment as an incoming student?
Incoming students are requested to fill out the enclosed Housing Information Form and return it by June 1, 2007 to the Office of Residential Life and Education. Your response will assist us in the selection of your future roommate. If you wish to room with a particular incoming resident, you and the other student(s) must inform the Office of Residential Life and Education by letter no later than June 1, 2007. Every effort will be made to place new students together, although all residence halls have a percentage of upperclassmen on each floor.

I've heard that some students are in triples their first year. Is this true of Saint Anselm College's residence halls?
Occasionally, new student enrollment exceeds the standard capacity for some residence halls. There may be a need to use some single rooms as double rooms, some double rooms as triple rooms and some triple rooms as quads. New students who are placed in these arrangements will receive a rebate monthly until this can be alleviated.
