President Wierda called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM.
Present: Senators Cronin, George, Guerra, Hammond, Kuehne Lavoie, Lynch, Mahoney, O'Reilly, Parodi, Rhodes, Rizzo, Weinreb and Wierda.

I. President of the College
President Wierda, introduced Father Jonathan, O.S.B., President of the College.
Father Jonathan began by thanking the members of the Senate who served on the on-campus search committee for a new Executive Vice-President. All of the candidates were well-qualified. The search firm forwarded 9 resumes to Fr. Jonathan, O.S.B., who then interviewed 7 off-campus. Three were invited to campus to meet with various constituencies. Dr. Marie George was invited back today.
Father Jonathan, O.S.B. proceeded to introduce Dr. George. The president and the Executive Vice-President work closely and Dr. George was his first choice. While having the same name as one of our faculty, there is no relation. Dr. George has a Ph.D. in Organization Leadership. The past 10 years have been spent at The University of Scranton, initially as a member of the faculty, and more recently as the Vice-President of Planning and Institutional Effectiveness. Prior to the University of Scranton, Dr. George was a Vice-President of Human Resources for the Mercy Health Care System, Wilkes-Barre, PA. Dr. George has a knowledge and understanding of Catholic Institutions.
President Wierda thanked Dr. George for meeting with the Senate.
Senator Lynch (seconded by Senator Rizzo) moved the Senate go into executive session.

Senator Guerra (seconded by Senator George) moved that the meeting adjourn.
