Any student, regardless of financial circumstances, can apply for need-based financial aid. Families who feel they need assistance are encouraged to apply by the priority deadline.

Your need is determined by comparing the total anticipated costs of a Saint Anselm education in a given year with the financial contribution that Saint Anselm expects from you and your family. Need-based aid (scholarships, grants, loans, and work-study) is offered to help bridge this gap.

Materials all new students must submit:

By November 15, candidates for Early Decision should complete a 2008-2009 CSS Financial Aid PROFILE using estimated 2007 tax information for an estimated financial aid award. Candidates must also submit copies of parent and student 2006 tax returns and W-2 forms directly to the Office of Financial Aid.  To finalize your award you must submit material by the priority deadline.

Regular decision applicants must submit all appropriate forms by March 15. International citizens must complete their application process for aid and admission by February 1. International citizens who need financial aid cannot apply for admission as early decision candidates. Applicants can download the International Student Financial Aid Application from our Web site.

A few weeks after filing the FAFSA, a Student Aid Report (SAR) is mailed to you. Review the SAR and, if corrections are needed, mail back Part II to the federal processor or correct it over the Internet at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The Office of Financial Aid receives an electronic copy of your SAR.

Shortly after completing the CSS Profile, the College Board IDOC Program will email the tax submission instructions to the email used to register for the Profile.  Please submit one packet of tax information containing the signed federal tax forms for the parents and the student, including all schedules, and copies of all W-2 forms to the College Board IDOC Program.  The College Board will provide the Office of Financial Aid with the Tax information in a more useable form.  If you do not receive the submission instructions from the College Board within a week of completing the Profile form, please contact the at 305-829-9793.

We believe that financing a student’s education is a family responsibility, to the extent that the family is able to help. Unless you qualify as an independent student by federal standards, or you have highly unusual circumstances, you must file with your parents. You should talk to a member of the financial aid staff, if you believe you have circumstances that warrant special consideration.
