Hawks Come Up Short at No. 10 Bryant


Smithfield, R.I. (September 12) -- On Wednesday night, the Saint Anselm field hockey team dropped a 4-0 final at No. 10 Bryant University in Northeast-10 Conference action.

Julie Kuchyt scored her first goal of the game just 3:27 into the first half and ended the contest with her first career hat trick. Shana Libman closed out the scoring in the second half at 67:03 with her fourth goal of the season off a penalty corner.

Sophomore goalkeeper Riley Haddock (Falmouth, Maine) made 14 saves in the loss, while Kundayi Mawema turned aside six shots to pick up the victory.

With the loss, the Hawks fall to 1-4 overall and in the Northeast-10. Saint Anselm is back in action after a six-day layoff when the team travels to St. Michael's for an NE-10 game beginning at 4 p.m.
