Hawks Ranked First in Preseason Poll


Cape Cod, Mass. (October 26) -- The Saint Anselm women's hockey team was voted the top team in the ECAC Women's East 2007-08 preseason poll, receiving 11 first place votes. The Hawks are coming off a 24-3 season, 18-1 ECAC Women's East. 

The Hawks goaltending will remain solid with Jen Taylor (Canandaigua, N.Y.) and Andrea Berlin (Durham, N.H.) returning to the crease.  Taylor led the Women's East with a 0.67 goals against average, while Berlin recorded a 1.35 goals against average. The Hawks return most of an offense that ranked first in league scoring in 2006-07 with 5.07 goals per game.

The Hawks open their 2007-08 campaign on November 3, traveling to Salve Regina for a 6:00 p.m. start.
