Manchester, N.H. (April 15) -- Andrew Long (Peabody, Mass.) held Bentley to just one hit over six innings of work, Ryan Gargan (Byfield, Mass.) went 3-for-3 with four RBIs, and Ben Gunn (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) went 3-for-4 with an RBI and three runs scored as Saint Anselm cruised past the Falcons, 10-1, on Tuesday afternoon at Sullivan Park. The Hawks improve to 12-18 overall, 8-11 in Northeast-10 play. The Falcons drop to 13-21, 8-11 in conference.

The Hawks jumped on the board in the first with a pair of runs. Gunn brought in Adam Hussey (Danvers, Mass.) with a single and Gargan picked up his first RBI of the afternoon, driving in Gunn with a single.

The Hawks added insurance, scoring every inning from the third through the sixth. Another Gargan single brought in Gunn in the third. Hussey's single off the pitcher in the fourth brought in Evan Kelleher (Haverhill, Mass.), while Gargan walked with the bases loaded to bring in Nick Moreau (Manchester, N.H.), who had walked earlier in the inning. A double steal allowed Melvin Purdue (Jonesboro, Ga.) to score in the fifth, extending the Hawks lead to 6-0. A third single from Gargan brought in Gunn for the third time in the game in the sixth, putting the Hawks up 7-0.

The Falcons got on the board in the eighth with a single run, as James Roche (Arlington, Mass.) walked with the bases loaded to bring in Brett Damato (Commach, N.Y.), who had walked earlier in the inning.

The Hawks responded with three more runs in the bottom of the inning, as T.J. Bowler (Pittsfield, Mass.) picked up a pinch-hit RBI, and Perdue knocked in two with a double over the right fielder's head.

Long went six innings allowing just the one hit, walking four and striking out one to improve to 3-4 on the season. Nick Novy (South Portland, Maine) made his first appearance of the season, working a scoreless seventh inning with a strikeout. Mike O'Rourke (Norwood, Mass.) made his team-leading 11th appearance of the season, allowing one run on one hit with three walks and a strikeout in the eighth. Eric Simm (Salem, N.H.) worked a scoreless ninth inning with one hit, one walk, and a pair of strikeouts.

The Hawks are back in action tomorrow, hosting Merrimack at 3:30 p.m. at Sullivan Park.
