Rindge, N.H. (April 22) -- Led by three goals each from Steve Trocki (Braintree, Mass.) and Chris Murphy (Winchester, Mass.), the Saint Anselm men's lacrosse team came away with a 15-5 win over Franklin Pierce at Sodexho Field on Sunday afternoon. The Hawks built to a 9-3 halftime lead and cruised to win to stay in the Northeast-10 Tournament hunt heading into their final regular-season game next weekend.

Brian Hubert (Nashua, N.H.) gave the Hawks an early 2-0 edge with a pair of goals in a 35-second span. James Morin (Winchester, Mass.) and Murphy also tallied in the first quarter before Jason Flanigan got the Ravens at the board to cut the lead to 4-1. Each team tallied a man-up goal in the second quarter and Saint Anselm added four even-strength scores to take the 9-3 lead into the break.

In the second half, it was all Hawks as five different Saint Anselm players found the back of the net, including a pair of goals from Trocki. Luke Ferreira led the way for Franklin Pierce with a hat trick, including a pair of goals in the second half.

Senior Andrew Roy (Westford, Mass.) made 10 saves in net for the Hawks, while Ben Lek turned aside 16 shots in the loss for the Ravens. Trocki had a five-point afternoon with the hat trick and two assists, while Hubert had a four-point showing with two goals and two assists.

With the win, the Hawks improve to 5-7 overall and 3-5 in the Northeast-10, while Franklin Pierce drops to 3-9 overall and remains winless in the NE-10 at 0-8. Saint Anselm is back in action on Saturday, April 28th when the Hawks travel to Pace for a 1 p.m. faceoff in Pleasantville, N.Y.
