Rosen enters his second season as the Saint Anselm baseball coach after being named as the head coach in August of 2006. In his first season, Rosen guided the Hawks to a 9-29 overall record and picked up his first win in a Saint Anselm uniform in March of 2007 vs. Assumption.
Rosen brings 38 years of coaching experience to the Hilltop, including 16 at the collegiate level. Most recently as assistant coach at Brandeis University since 2003, Rosen served as the head coach at Merrimack College from 1992-2003. At Merrimack, his teams captured six regular-season conference championships, two conference tournament titles, one ECAC Championship and competed in two NCAA Regionals. He coached six players that went on to play professionally, six All-Region performers and four All-Americans.
Prior to Merrimack, Rosen was a head coach at Winthrop High School in Winthrop, Mass., from 1976-1992. Coach Rosen is involved in a number of professional organizations, including serving for 10 years on the executive board of the Massachusetts Baseball Coaches Association. Rosen is an executive member of the New England Intercollegiate Baseball Association and is a past president of that organization as well. An instructor at a number of camps in Massachusetts, Rosen has also had his writing published in the ABCA Coaches Digest.
In addition to his baseball duties, Rosen was a high school science teacher, including a 32-year career at Winthrop High School. He recently retired as a chemistry teacher at Westford Academy in Westford, Mass., a position he held since 2004.
He is a 1972 graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in biochemistry.
