Chris Leazier - photo by Gil TalbotChris Leazier is in his first season as the Saint Anselm women's basketball head coach after being named as the head coach on May 23, 2007.

Leazier comes to the Hilltop after serving as an assistant coach at Dartmouth College since 2002. He helped guide the Big Green to a pair of Ivy League Championships (2005, 2006), a string of five consecutive winning seasons, a 50-20 Ivy League record and an overall mark of 85-56. Leazier assisted in the development of a number of outstanding players at Dartmouth, including the 2007 Ivy League Player of the Year, the 2004 Ivy League Rookie of the Year and 14 players who earned All-Ivy League recognition.

Leazier’s coaching career began in 1995 at St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago, Illinois, and Central College in 1996-1997 before he headed to the Northeast as the head boy’s basketball coach at Thetford Academy in Vermont. After serving as head coach at Thetford from 1997-2000, Leazier joined the Dartmouth staff as a men’s assistant coach in 2000 before eventually moving into his position with the women’s program after two seasons.

A graduate of Miami (OH) University, Leazier graduated in 1992 with a bachelor of arts degree in philosophy. He earned his master’s in 1996 from DePaul University, graduating with a distinction with a degree in philosophy. He currently resides in Norwich, Vt., with his wife, Amy, and their four children, Clark, Oliver, Isabelle and Eloise.
