David FlintDavid Flint was named the first head coach of the Saint Anselm women’s ice hockey program in the spring of 2003 and is entering his fifth season on the Hilltop.

During the 2006-2007 season, Flint's team posted its third-straight 20-win season, finished with a 24-3-0 overall record and claimed its first-ever ECAC East Regular-Season title with an 18-1-0 league mark. The Hawks capped off the season with a 6-3 win over Sacred Heart to claim the ECAC Open Championship. For his efforts, Flint was named as the ECAC East Coach of the Year for the second straight season.

In addition, Flint's team captured both the ECAC East Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year awards for the second straight time and again led the nation in both scoring offense and scoring defense. Over the last three seasons, Flint's teams have compiled a record of 65-13-1, giving him the best winning percentage in Division II/III in that period at .823.

In the first year of varsity play, Flint guided the women’s ice hockey program to a 21-3-1 record, with two of the three losses coming to nationally-ranked opponents. Saint Anselm captured the ECAC Open Championship and had two Hawks named to the ECAC East All-Conference Teams. Saint Anselm posted the top defense of any team in any division in the nation, allowing just 27 goals in 25 games, and also had one of the top penalty kills (95.9) and power plays (20.6) in the country.

Flint has worked in the Saint Anselm athletic department for the past 12 years, seven of which were spent as an assistant in the men’s ice hockey program. A certified athletic trainer (ATC) and strength & conditioning specialist (CSCS), Flint also served as an assistant in the athletic training department at the College.

Flint graduated from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, formerly North Adams State, in 1993 with a degree in Biology and a concentration in Sports Medicine. A goaltender on the ice hockey team, he was named the team’s MVP following his senior season. A 1989 graduate of Trinity High School in Manchester, N.H., Flint will be inducted into the Manchester Catholic High Schools Athletic Hall of Fame this fall.

In addition to his work at Saint Anselm, Flint is in his first year as the goaltending consultant for the entire United States Women's Ice Hockey National program. In that capacity, Flint will evaluate the goaltenders at all levels of the national program, including the National Team that will eventually compete in the next Olympic Games.

Flint also serves as the Co-Director of Training at DNHL in Tewksbury, Mass., an off-season collegiate and professional goaltenders training program. In addition, he is also an instructor at the Daccord Goaltending Camps and Pro Prospect Camps in Manchester, N.H., and has worked with NHL goaltenders Peter Skudra, Andrew Raycroft and Scott Clemmensen.

Flint resides in Merrimack with his wife, Alison, and his two childen, Paige and Tate.
