Coach George Davis

 Coach Davis comes to St. Anselm following a very succesful career where he coached NCAA National Championship Title Team,  NCAA Cross Country Championships, 10 top 10 Team Finishers, coached individuals to National Championships,Approx 100 All American certificates, 40 years collegiate / high school / jr high.  Coach and Mentor Davis is a New Hampshire native

Coach Paul Finn

Head Coach Paul Finn, PhD

Dr Finn is both the Head Coach of Men and Womens Cross Country Teams and the Chair of the Psychology Department. As a licensed Psychologist with research background in Behavioral Health, Sports Psychology and Neuropsychology, he brings a wealth of knowledge to Cross Country.  Among his achievements is the National Faculty Advisor Award from Psi Chi honor society and two Student Athletes of the year in the past four years. Prior to coaching Cross Country, he trained over 100 runners to completion of marathons

 

Mens Asst Coach Eric Berry, PhD

 Dr. Eric Berry  is  Professor of Biology and Coach of Mens Cross Country. Coach Berry In 1994 and 1995 was the Ashland University male student-athlete of the year and in 1995 he was awarded an NCAA postgraduate scholarship. Berry was a six-time All-America, earning those honors in cross country, indoor track and field and outdoor track and field. He was third at the indoor national meet in the 1500 (1994) and third outdoors in the 1500 twice (1994, 1995). Dr. Berry holds school records indoors in the 1000 (2:27.61) and outdoors in the 1500 (3:44.10). 
 

 

Womens Asst Coach Michelle Massmann

Coach Massmann is a graduate of Saint Anselm college where she was an athlete on the Womens' Cross Country Team.  She currently works with LD children and is studying for her master's degree while maintaining almost full time commitment to cross country.  A high school soccer player, her passion for running started with marathons during her early years of college. This interest grew and carried over to  cross country. During her first year of XC,as a senior,  she was scoring for the team from the first meet on through the season. Her tireless work, leadership and commitment brings a valued addition to cross country at Saint Anselm

In addition to our coaching staff,  is the continued development of our 5k and 8k courses which are fully field and trails, no roads. Our landscaping staff has done incredible work developing this resource which is fairly unique for an urban campus.   If you are not familiar with St. Anselm college, our faculty to student ratio is 14:1 and 93% of our faculty have doctoral degrees.  Faculty are involved in research while keeping commitment to students and teaching their top priority. Our coaching staff, like our faculty, dedicate much time in developing the the talents of each individual. We have the skills and the small size to work with each athlete.  Our teams are comprised of highly motivated student athletes who love to run and thrive on competition.
