Saint Anselm College Track
Track at Saint Anselm College is a club sport which is coached by the coaches of our varsity Cross Country teams. The team maintains officers as well as captains of both the men's and women's teams. In addition to intercollegiate indoor track (new in 2007 - first competition is on the Harvard track on the 20th of January) we have spring track where we have been in intercollegiate competition since 2004.
In addition to indoor and spring track, we also have "running for life" which is a group which trains each year for a marathon. Last year we had 32 students (not counting alum) train for and complete a 26.2 mile course at times ranging from 2:45 to 4:50. While marathons are not encouraged for runners competing at their peak in 5k or 8k xc races, cross country has drawn marathon runners who come to cross country with an excellent training base (usually jr or sr year). Our runs are a mix of trails (snowmobile trails are great for base work without speed) and quiet roads.
