Three Hawks Named All-Northeast-10
Conference
Beauregard Named 1st Team; Ouellet, Edmondson
Named 3rd Team

Keith Beauregard |
Manchester, N.H. (May 12, 2003) - The Saint Anselm
College baseball team had three players named to the All-Northeast-10
Conference teams in an announcement made by the conference office
Monday morning.
Sophomore outfielder Keith Beauregard (Leominster, Mass./
Leominster) led the way as he was named to the conference's First
Team. Beauregard, a Third Team selection last season, becomes just
the second Saint Anselm player named to the First Team since 1995.
Named to the conference's Third team was senior outfielder Marc
Ouellet (Newburyport, Mass./ Newburyport), and freshman first
baseman Jerod Edmondson (Johnson City, N.Y./ Johnson City).
Beauregard has been among the league leaders in hitting throughout
most of this season for the Northeast-10, which enacted a move to
wooden bats for league play. Beauregard leads the team in hitting
at .317 (45-for-142). He also leads the Hawks with 13 extra base
hits (8 2B, 2 3B, 3 HR), 66 total bases, 21 RBI, a .465 slugging
percentage, and is tied for the team lead with nine stolen bases.

Marc Ouellet |
Ouellet had a big season with the lumber despite missing
several games with a shoulder injury. He was second on the team
with a .316 batting average (31-for-98), led the team with 10 doubles
and a .432 on-base-percentage, and was a perfect 9-for-9 in stolen
bases. The left-handed hitter also showed tremendous success against
lefty pitchers with a .381 average against southpaws.
Edmondson started all 40 games at first base and proved to be a
defensive force. He displayed a consistent ability to pick poor
throws and had a fielding percentage of .985. He also showed some
pop at the plate. Edmondson batted .282 (44-for-156) and was second
in the NE-10 with four triples. He also was perfect on the basepaths
with an 8-for-8 success mark.
Saint Anselm finished the season with the most wins in program history
at 20-20 overall. The Hawks tied a school record for wins in the
NE-10 with 15 and finished tied for second with Stonehill in the
Pepin Division at 15-10. The Hawks will host this year's ECAC Division
II Tournament this weekend, marking the first time the program has
played in a postseason tournament other than the NE-10's.
