Manchester, N.H. (May 5, 2003) - Saint Anselm College sophomore outfielder Keith Beauregard (Leominster, Mass./ Leominster) has signed a contract to play baseball this summer for the Mill City All-Americans (Lowell, Mass.) of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL).

Beauregard, who has started in centerfield in each of his first two seasons at Saint Anselm, is also expected to patrol the outfield in the NECBL. An All-Northeast-10 Conference outfielder as a freshman, Beauregard becomes the second player from Saint Anselm to play in the league. Two years ago, All-American first baseman Ken Kessaris played for the Concord (N.H.) Quarry Dogs.

Beauregard has been among the league leaders in hitting throughout most of this season. This year the Northeast-10 enacted a move to wooden bats for league play and he has not missed a beat. Through the regular season, the 5 foot 11 lefty is leading the team in hitting at .311 (44-for-138). He also leads the Hawks with 13 extra base hits (8 2B, 2 3B, 3 HR), 65 total bases, 21 RBI, a .471 slugging percentage and nine stolen bases.

The NECBL, an NCAA sanctioned summer wooden-bat league, plays a 42-game schedule in June and July. Founded in 1993, the League is made up of 13 teams from each of the six New England states and is recognized as one of the premier summer collegiate leagues in the country.
