Saint Anselm Swept By UMass Lowell
River Hawks Led By Graf, Guyer
LOWELL, MA (Oct. 8, 2002) – Senior OH Stacey Graf (Orange,
CA/Villa Park) registered 11 kills, 14 digs and five aces to lead
the UMass Lowell volleyball team to a 3-0 victory (30-12, 30-20,
30-17) over Saint Anselm Wednesday night in a Northeast-10 Conference
match at Costello Gym.
The victory was the ninth straight for UML, which improved to 10-0
in the NE-10 and 15-7 overall. The shutout was also the 12th in
22 matches this season for the River Hawks. Saint Anselm slipped
to 4-15 overall, 1-6 in the NE-10.
UML meets Michigan-Dearborn Friday night at 7 p.m. at American International
College in Springfield, MA.
Senior MH Jamie Guyer (Sanbornton, NH/Winnisquam) registered a team-high
12 kills and hit .733 while sophomore MH Lauren Dufresne (Chelmsford,
MA/Chelmsford) chipped in 10 kills, six digs and six blocks for
UML.
Junior S Andrea Turner (Highlands Ranch, CO/Thunder Ridge) dealt
50 assists along with 11 digs.
Freshman Katye Larson (Covington, WA/Kentlake) added seven kills
and 11 digs while senior OH Erin Miller (Auburn, WA/Fife) had six
kills and 10 digs.
Senior RSH Marissa Caron (Raymond, NH/Oyster River) led the Hawks
with eight kills while sophomore OH Karen Lyons (Pocasset, MA/Bourne)
had 12 digs and senior S Robin Hinchey (Billerica, MA/Billerica)
17 assists.
