Manchester, N.H. (October 15, 2002) - American International College stormed back from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Saint Anselm, 3-2 in lengthy Northeast-10 Conference thriller at Stoutenburg Gym in Manchester, N.H.

Scores of the games were 28-30, 22-30, 30-22, 30-28, 15-12. AIC improves its record to 12-11 overall, 6-3 in the NE-10 while Saint Anselm slips to 4-16 and 1-7 in conference play. The win marked the second time this season that AIC has defeated the Hawks in five sets.

Hitting and service errors played a big role in a game neither team deserved to win. The teams combined for 58 hitting errors and 24 service errors with the Hawks coming unraveled to the tune of 15 service errors, and 31 hitting errors including 17 during the last three games.

AIC was led by do-everything senior Jennifer Bresciani (Weyburn, Saskatchewan), who recorded 14 kills, four aces, and 21 digs. Sophomore Heather Wyatt (Phoenix, Ariz.) also played well with 29 assists and 20 digs.

Saint Anselm was led by Marissa Caron (Madbury, N.H./ Oyster River), who recorded a match-high 21 kills. Robin Hinchey (Billerica, Mass./ Billerica) recorded a season-high 47 assists in a losing effort.

Saint Anselm will return to action on Thursday when the Hawks travel to New London, N.H. to take on in-state rival Colby-Sawyer in a non-conference match. AIC returns to action next Tuesday with an away match at Assumption.
