Saint Anselm Wins Again
Hawks Storm Back, Win Fifth Straight

ALBANY - The College of Saint Rose had its three match win streak snapped with a 3-2 setback to visiting Saint Anselm in a Northeast-10 Conference women's volleyball match tonight at the Campus Activities Center. Saint Rose (11-13/3-3 NE-10) won the first two games 30-28 and 30-27, but the visiting Hawks (9-16/4-7 NE-10) rallied the to win the next three 30-21, 30-21 and 15-8 to extend their win streak to five matches.

Senior middle hitter Melissa Wright (N. Attleboro, MA/Bishop Feehan) and senior setter Robin Hinchey (Billerica, MA/Billerica) led the way for the Hawks. Wright put away nine kills while Hinchey passed out 39 assists. Also, freshman setter Carley Hughey (Chesire, CT/Chesire) came up with 11 digs.

Junior middle hitter Kristen Gaudreau (Medway, MA/Medway) and senior outside hitter Heather Baney (Auburn, NY/Auburn) had 13 kills apiece while sophomore setter Amy Zolendjeski (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) distributed 41 assists to pace the Saint Rose offense. Junior middle hitter Jessica Euell (Garnerville, NY/North Rockland) had a solid all-around match with 10 kills, five digs and five blocks while junior outside hitter Victoria Fede (New York, NY/Bishop Kearney) recorded eight kills and a team high 14 digs.

The Golden Knights return to action for a non-league match this Tuesday, October 29 when Dominican College visits the Capital District at 7:00 pm. Meanwhile, Saint Anselm visits conference rival Pace University at 3:00 pm tomorrow in Pleasantville.
