Saint Anselm Splits Pair
Hawks Go 1-1 on Senior Day

Manchester, N.H. (November 2, 2002)-Saint Anselm College split a pair of non-conference volleyball games while hosting a tri-match at Stoutenburg Gym in Manchester, N.H. Saturday afternoon.

In the day's first match, Saint Anselm defeated Saint Thomas Aquinas, 3-0, by scores of 30-14, 30-15, 30-21. Saint Thomas Aquinas was next defeated by Merrimack, 3-0, by scores of 30-18, 30-12, 30-8. In the final game, Merrimack defeated the Hawks for the second time this season, 3-0, by scores of 35-33, 30-25, 30-24.

At the end of the day's events, Saint Anselm College's record stood at 10-19 overall, Merrimack improved to 12-13 and Saint Thomas Aquinas dipped to 3-21.

In the closest match of the day, Merrimack edged out the Hawks in three close games, kicked off by a 35-33 thriller in the first before rounding out the day with wins by 30-25 and 30-24.

Merrimack was led by freshman Lindsay Larson's (Mission Viejo, Calif.) 18 kills while senior Diane Dynon (N. Kingstwen, R.I.) added 12 kills, 22 digs and 2 blocks, and setter Erika Martin (Friendswood, Tex.) contributed 45 assists.

Saint Anselm was led by Marissa Caron's (Madbury, N.H./ Oyster River) 11 kills and Robin Hinchey's (Billerica, Mass./ Billerica) 16 assists.

Saint Anselm will return to action on Tuesday when the Hawks close out their season with a game against in-city rival Southern New Hampshire at 7:00 PM.
