Bentley Defeats Saint Anselm, 3-0
Falcons Sweep Hawks For Second Time

Manchester, N.H. (September 11, 2002) - Saint Anselm was defeated
by Bentley College in straight sets of a Northeast-10 Conference
opener for both schools, 30-23, 30-23, 30-14 at Manchester, N.H.
It was the second time in as many meetings that the Falcons have
swept Saint Anselm with the two teams playing previously in the
Bryant Classic last weekend in Smithfield, R.I.
Bentley (4-1, 1-0 NE-10) was paced by Lauren Washington (Wayne,
Pa.) on the offensive end with a team-high 11 kills, and by Erin
Cavanaugh (Doylestown, Pa.) and Marissa Hyman (Austin, Tex.) on
the defensive front. Cavanaugh had a solid overall day with six
kills and four blocks while Hyman recorded a match-high 20 digs
to go along with three aces.
Saint Anselm (2-5, 0-1 NE-10) was led by Marissa Caron (Raymond,
N.H./ Oyster River), who recorded a match-high 13 kills. Karen
Lyons (Pocasset, Mass./ Bourne) paced the defense with 19 digs.
Saint Anselm will return to action on Saturday when the hawks travel
to Springfield, Mass. to take part in the American International
College Stinger Classic.
