Manchester, N.H. (September 24, 2002)-The women's volleyball team at Saint Anselm remains winless in Northeast-10 competition after falling 3-1 to Assumption College in front of 412 fans at Stoutenburgh Gymnasium Tuesday evening.

The Hawks (2-9, 0-3 NE-10) won the first game of the match 30-25, but lost all three subsequent games to the visiting Greyhounds (4-7, 2-2 NE-10). This is the third time in the young season that Saint Anselm has taken advantage after the first game only to lose in four.

Assumption was led by the offensive tandem of senior Emily Bleich (Londonderry, N.H./ Londonderry) and freshman Lindy Dhulst (Portland, Or.). Bleich tallied 11 kills and 13 digs while Dhulst added seven kills and 44 assists.

Standing out for the Hawks was junior Marissa Caron (Madbury, N.H./ Oyster River) who had 17 kills and 11 blocks. Senior Robin Hinchey (Billerica, Mass./ Billerica) chalked up 39 assists in the loss.

Saint Anselm returns to action Saturday afternoon when the Hawks host NE-10 foe Saint Michael's in a 12:00 match.
