Was limited in her first year due to ankle problems, but is ready to showcase her abilities in 2002-03... One of the better all-around players in what could be the deepest pool of guards in the Northeast-10.
2001-02: Battled through injuries to play in 16 games... Showed signs of a bright future ahead with four points against Christian Brothers... Playing time increased as the season went on... Could be in for a huge year if she can find her rhythm as a shooter.
Previous: Was a four-year varsity player at Sheehan HS… Named All League and All State… Named All-County Basketball Player during her final two years… Named All Area MVP by the New Haven Register after her senior year.
Personal: Daughter of Christopher and Carolyn Hamel… Has one brother (Andrew) and two sisters (Mollie, Kelly)… Played volleyball, basketball, and softball in HS…Was Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year in Connecticut… All-SCC Academic Team in all three sports… Undecided on Major… Career ambition is to become a coach in her hometown of Wallingford, Conn.
