Sara Petrowicz

Profile: Leading by example, Petrowicz will once again take on the responsibility of powering the Saint Anselm frontcourt... A tenacious athlete who puts everything she has into her playing... Returns as the Hawks’ statistical leader in 10 catagories from a year ago.
2001-02: Led the Hawks in scoring with a 11.9 ppg average and was tops in total rebounds with 212... Achieved a new personal single game record of 24 points against Franklin Pierce on 1-24-02... Had seven double-double performances with respect to total rebounds and points scored, and fell just short on seven other occasions; coming within one board or two points... Respected for her tireless work ethic and the zeal she brings everytime she steps onto the court.
2000-01: Voted by the players as the team’s Most Valuable Player… Captured a career high 18 points against Saint Michael’s on 1-27-01… Had a 12-for-12 night at the charity stripe against UMass Lowell on 1-9-01… Had double-double figures in points and rebounds in six games… Had 19 games with double figures in points… Led team in rebounding with 221, averaging 7.9 per game… Finished sixth in the conference in rebounding and was fifth in offensive rebounding… Second on the team in scoring with 9.9 ppg.
1999-2000: Made an immediate impact as a freshman… Became a regular starter… Averaged 18.6 minutes in 26 games played… Was the Hawks’ top rebounder and finished fifth in scoring… Hit for double figures in scoring five times and in rebounding twice… Had one double-double.
Previous: Was a four-year varsity letter winner… Starter at Holy Name HS… Earned a number of accolades and honors… Led Holy Name to four district finals and two district championships… Team captain… Led Holy Name to two-straight Mass. State Final Fours… Was team’s leading rebounder during final two seasons… Finished with 976 total points (seventh in school history)… Played two sports (soccer and basketball).
Personal: Daughter of John and Sharon Petrowicz… Has a brother (Marc)… Majors in psychology… Would like to attend medical school and aspires to be a neurosurgeon… Likes to play basketball and go kayaking… She also likes to study Latin.
