"I've discovered that, if you want to make your mark on the world, what you learn outside of the classroom is every bit as important as what you learn inside the classroom."
As a Benedictine college, Saint Anselm strives to "promote the common good of the Church and society and assist individuals to lead lives of balance, generosity, and integrity." That commitment plays out not only in the classroom, but wherever Saint Anselm students serve in the community and around the world.
Much of the student body was involved in over 30,100 hours of community service during the 2008-2009 academic year. Every varsity sports team and club at the college provides some form of service to the community. Whether it is volunteering time with young athletes at the nearby YMCA, participating in a community clean-up, working with disadvantaged youth, or building houses in Costa Rica as part of Spring Break Alternative, the commitment of Saint Anselm students to serve others is contagious.
