“All of the people have the same impulses, spirit and goals. Through my music and dance, I want to create a positive awareness of the Oneness of humanity.” - Kevin Locke

The Drum is the Thunder, the Flute is the Wind

They come representing the Plains nations of Lakota, Anishanabe, and Comanche, the Southeastern tribe Choctaw, and the Woodlands Nations of Ojibwe and Oneida, offering a stunning performance of American Indian traditions and aesthetics.

Kevin Locke, honored as Master Traditional Artist, is known the world over for his visionary Hoop Dancing, magnificent storytelling, and chilling solos on the indigenous Northern Plains flute.

This mesmerizing performance of powerful drums, soaring powwow vocals, ancient flute songs, and authentic stories of the First Nations represents the Return of the Thunders. Each instrument, in turn, represents a part of nature. The Drum is the Thunder, the Rattle is the Rain, the Flute is the Wind, and the Voice is the Lightning. The return of the “Thunders” revitalizes the Spirit within the People, as Spring revitalizes the spirit.

A dazzling performance honoring the deepest roots of our nation.
