The Dana Center's 29th season opens with the most celebrated contemporary dance company in America. Martha Graham, known as the mother of American modern dance, changed the landscape of dance forever, inventing her own language of movement to expose the passion, rage and ecstasy of human emotion in over 181 original works. With an extraordinary gift for inspiring and training generations of dancers and choreographers, including Alvin Ailey, Twyla Tharp, Paul Taylor, Merce Cunningham and Mikhail Baryshnikov, her genius and artistic legacy lives on through her most prized, perfect instrument � her dancers.
