The Dana Center presents: New Art Theatre in
William Shakespeare’s
The Tempest

Shakespeare’s most magical play brought to life in a unique and intimate setting
For over 30 years, New Art Theatre’s The Living Classics Series brings literature to life for student and adult audiences alike. As worldwide celebrations of the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death wind down, what better way to honor The Bard than with his last play, The Tempest. Shipwrecks, magic, young love, and exotic locales abound in this most magical of plays, as well as a deeper understanding of forgiveness, that most noble of all human traits. Talk-backs with the cast after the performance allow students and teachers to investigate the plays’ themes as well as the unique performance style offered by this seasoned professional company, deepening a participatory exploration of context, history, and archetypes that extends to other literary works. Come join the magic, and journey with Shakespeare’s wizard, Prospero, into a world of discovery.
