Every person in this story has a positive role in stopping bullying behaviour.Stan Davis, Author Schools Where Everyone Belongs

Jack is a smart, funny, eleven-year-old boy who makes a fatal mistake on the school playground: he wins a game of handball against the school bully. From that moment on, his life goes from normal to nightmarish, as the bully starts a school-wide hate campaign that makes Jack's days unendurable until, with the help of family, friends, and teachers, solutions are found that help create a safer place for each and every child at the school. Based on Susanne Gervay's classic storyI Am Jack, and adapted for the stage by Eva Di Cesare, Sandra Eldridge and Tim McGarry, Australia's Monkey Baa Theatre for Young People presents a fast-paced rendition of a treasured story with one actor playing all eleven roles in a production that is by turns hilarious, troubling, and ultimately empowering. Yes, it's wildly entertaining; but it's also a significant resource for parents, teachers, and students in exploring and finding healing solutions for this important issue. A talk-back is offered after this show to allow for questions and conversation.
