Human Anatomy & Physiology - Summer School Session

Students Dissecting Sagittal Brain  Dissecting 2

Introduction:
Are you planning on pursuing a career or a professional degree as a doctor, nurse, nurse practitioner, physician's assistant, physical therapist, or in some other field related to human health?  If so, you probably will need to take a required course in Human Anatomy and Physiology.  Saint Anselm College offers an intensive lecture/laboratory summer course in Human Anatomy & Physiology geared toward pre-health professionals.  In this course you will learn about the form and function of the human body, with a particular emphasis on clinical applications of anatomical and physiological knowledge.  The instructors of this course (Larson and Rhodes) have a combined experience of over 20 years teaching Human A&P, so you will be in good hands as you learn your way through the body.  We look forward to seeing you this summer!

Description of the Human Anatomy & Physiology Course Sequence (BI331-332):
Human Anatomy & Physiology is a 2-semeter course taught in the Biology Department at Saint Anselm College.  In this course, we present a broad overview of the form and function of the body, working our way from the cellular/molecular level, through tissues, organs, and organ systems, with the ultimate goal being to understand the workings of the body as a whole.  Since this is a required course for nursing majors at Saint Anselm, a heavy emphasis is placed on disease processes and disorders of anatomy and/or physiology.  In the laboratory, we undertake a broad survey of anatomy and physiology through observation of specimens and slides, dissection of representative animals and organs, and physiological experimentation.

Course Instructors:
Human A&P I (BI331) is taught by Dr. Peter Larson
Human A&P II (BI332) is taught by Dr. Don Rhodes
