David B. George

Over the years I have worked on a number of aspects of the ancient world.  I have written on Hebrew narrative in the Bible, Greek Tragedy, Roman Epic, and Ancient Philosophy.  For the last few years, I have been working on archaeological projects in Western Crete and central Italy.  Currently,  I am co-director for a project that is excavating a site just outside of Orvieto, Italy.  This site has a number of interesting features ranging from 8th century bce Etruscan religious structures to late Antique Roman ruins.
