Study Abroad

There are numerous opportunities for study or work in the field of Classics away from campus. The Classics Department sponsors an archaeological expedition each summer to a site in Greece or Italy. Since 2006, the destination has been Castel Viscardo, Italy, where Prof. George has led a team of students in an archaeological excavation of an Etruscan sanctuary as well as a Roman bath complex.  In the past, regular study tours to Greece and Italy have been conducted by members of the department . The department offers course credit for field experience on excavations as well as for the Study Tour. Grants and scholarships are available for Classics majors. Interested students should consult Prof. George for further information or visit www.digumbria.com.
