                                                Assessment of Malingering:The Relationship of Feigned
                                                Cognitive Impairment on the Biber Cognitive Estimation
                   Test
 

             While the majority of psychiatric claims are valid, there are those individuals who feign disability
        for secondary gains.  The present study was conducted to evaluate the use of the Biber Cognitive
           Estimation Test against a current assessment tool for the detection of malingering.  Results indicated
            significance for response bias between instructed and non-instructed individuals.  Future studies may
            further the validation of the Biber Cognitive Estimation Test by looking at the response time of each

                           question for patients suspected of  feigning mental or physical disability.
