Your book(s) will be available for pickup in the library within 7-14 days. Ask for help in using this database at the reference desk, in person, or online at Ask a Librarian.

Finding Articles
Determine whether an article is from a scholarly source by consulting Types of Articles and their Characteristics.

Criminal Justice Abstracts
Links to some full-text and very comprehensive. Library owns some, but not all of the items indexed.   User Guide

NCJRS Abstracts
"Contains summaries of more than 150,000 criminal justice publications, including Federal, State, and local government reports, books, research reports, journal articles, and unpublished research." Though not as comprehensive, NCJRS Virtual Library, a subset of the larger Abstracts database, is a good place to go for full-text readings.

SocINDEX
Some full-text and fairly comprehensive for CJ. Most articles are peer-reviewed.

Academic Search Premier
Much full-text, but not comprehensive. Good starting point.

PsycINFO
This may help with choice #2; links to some full-text.

LexisNexis Academic Universe
Also helpful for choice #2. For articles from law journals, click on 'Legal Research', then 'Law Reviews'.
