Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a service of the Geisel Library Reference Department for use by the Saint
Anselm College community. Generally speaking, we will request from other libraries materials NOT OWNED by
our Library. For this reason, the first step is to check in our
catalog or Journal Finder
to make sure that what you want is not in Geisel Library.
Next sign in by clicking on the Log In link on the
Interlibrary Loan page. A menu will come up in which
you type in your S-number (it's on the back of your student ID) and your last
name. Type in the whole number, including the 'S.' If for any reason the system does not allow
you to sign in, contact Interlibrary Loan staff at extension 7303 or email us at illsta@anselm.edu.
The next step is to select the type of material you want to borrow from the drop-down
menu next to "submit a new request." We've tried to cover most types of requests in this menu, however,
if your material type is not listed, choose "a book" and then use the spaces to provide as much
information as you have. Then in the comments field, let us know what type of material it is that you are
requesting.
Now fill in the blank fields on the right-hand side of the screen. In most cases you will
be able to copy and paste your citation information directly from the database you searched.
Note: The more completely these boxes are filled in the more likely we will be able to request
your material quickly and efficiently.
Finally, click on "Submit Request" at the bottom of the page. You
will have to enter a separate request for each item you want. Your request(s) will be processed
within 24 hours, or on the next business day.
You will be notified by SAC email when your book or A/V material has arrived. If you have requested an
article, it will either be emailed to your SAC email account or sent to your campus post office box. We
prefer not to make exceptions to these delivery methods; if unusual or compelling circumstances make these
options unworkable, contact the Interlibrary Loan office.
