Find Criticism or Analysis
To locate criticism or analysis of a specific concept or school of thought, search the library catalog by keyword (e.g., metaphysics, deconstruction, epistemology). To locate criticism or analysis on a specific philosopher do a subject search on the philosopher's last name. Once you find the correct manifestation of your philosopher's name click on the name to bring up a list of books that the library owns about that specific philosopher.

To locate primary sources or original texts, do an author search in the library catalog using the philosopher's last name. Once you find the correct manifestation of your philosopher's name click on the name to bring up a list of books that the library owns by that specific philosopher.

Most philosophy books are located on the Main Level of the library in the B section. For specific topics, try looking for books in the following sections:

The premier international resource in philosophy, this database contains over 160,000 citations with abstracts to journal articles as well as books (1940–present).
Project MUSE
"Project MUSE provides online, worldwide, institutional subscription access to the full text of more than 200 scholarly journals in arts and humanities, social sciences, and mathematics." Consult their Philosophy Journals page to browse the philosophy related titles in their collection; Geisel Library has full text access to those titles marked by a green box.
Academic Search Premier
A broad index providing abstracts and some full-text for a range of academic areas, including philosophy.
JSTOR
Use JSTOR to search for full-text articles from major philosophical journals, including Philosophical Quarterly, Ethics, Mind, and Philosophy of Science. Please note that JSTOR provides access to back issues only, current issues of journals will not be in JSTOR; to locate current issues of titles in JSTOR use Journal Finder. Coverage is generally from the beginning of publication to within 5 years of the current issue. Consult their Philosophy Journals page to browse the philosophy related titles in their collection.

Catholic Periodical & Literature Index
CPLI is produced by the American Theological Library Association and the Catholic Library Association. It provides indexing to periodicals, books, newspapers, and papal documents dealing expressly with a practice of Catholic faith and lifestyle. (1981–present)
International Medieval Bibliography ON CAMPUS ONLY
This searchable online version of the IMB provides comprehensive indexing of scholarly journals and conference proceedings in the interdisciplinary field of medieval studies. Bibliographic records are available for 4,500 periodicals, with quarterly updates ensuring access to the latest articles.
To open the database, click on the "Enter Databases" button and then click on the icon for International Medieval Bibliography.
Iter: Gateway to the Middle Ages and Renaissance
"Iter's bibliography covers all literature pertaining to the Middle Ages and Renaissance (400–1700). Citations for journal articles, reviews, review articles, bibliographies, catalogues, abstracts and discographies are included. Past Masters: Humanities Database IN LIBRARY ONLY
This CD-ROM of the complete works of Saint Anselm (in Latin) and Saint Augustine (in Latin and English) can be searched using keywords. This database is located on Library PC 70, PC 74 and on the Anselm Room PC.
