The Special Collections of Geisel Library are located on the Upper Level. All materials housed in Special Collections can be located in the
library catalog:
- Rare Book Collection - Housed in the Creaghe Room, this collection includes some of the library's oldest materials.
Included in this collection is a miniature edition of An Introduction to the Devout Life by Saint Francis DeSalles, printed in 1675, and a Lutheran Bible printed in 1772.
- New England Collection - Housed in the Poisson Room, this collection is a body of approximately 2,000 volumes of town histories in New England.
Since much of the material housed in Special Collections is unique and

- Requests for photocopies of material will be considered when such duplication can be done without injury to the materials
and in accordance with copyright restrictions. When allowed, single copies will be provided for the researcher's reference use only.
Supplying a photocopy does not represent authorization to publish.
- All photocopying is done by staff at a charge of 25 cents per page.
