The Geisel Library at Saint Anselm College presents guest speaker and former New England Patriots player, Russ Francis, Thursday, November 15 at 7 p.m. Francis will speak about the social adjustments players must make when they enter the National Football League (NFL) as well as the financial aspect of playing football professionally. He hopes to address the salary cap, player benefits, the strength of the players union and including the NFL’s responsibility towards retired players with medical conditions.
Aside from playing for the Patriots, Francis was also a three time Pro Bowl Selection and a San Francisco 49er. He is now a sports host on WTPL 107.7 FM in Concord, N.H. on which the “Russ Francis Show” is aired every Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Francis will be speaking in the DeCicco Periodicals Room with a reception to follow. The event is free and open to the general public.
