The Anselmian Abbey Players of Saint Anselm College will present Once a Player, Always a Player, a special revue show celebrating the group’s 60th anniversary, Saturday, Feb. 21, in the Koonz Theatre of the Dana Center.
The production will showcase cuttings from musicals (including selections from Godspell, Pippin, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, and Rent), as well as cuttings from dramas (such as The Tempest and The Crucible), many of which have delighted area audiences at Saint Anselm over the past 60 years. It is directed by Mandy O’Neil, Class of 2006, and produced by Landis K. Magnuson, Ph.D.
In addition to the performance, a special presentation of memorabilia from the long history of the Anselmian Abbey Players will be present in the Dana Center. The show presents a unique opportunity for Players past and present, as well as loyal audience members, to gather and celebrate 60 years of the Players at Saint Anselm College.
The Anselmian Abbey Players of Saint Anselm College are a proud tradition that began in the fall of 1949 with a production of Career Angel. Since that time, this student-run organization has offered to students the opportunity to develop their artistic talents both on and off the stage, stressing the importance of self-esteem, teamwork, and leadership.
The performance starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $10, and are available at the door the night of the performance.
