Grace Knowlton, renowned mixed media artist, sculptor, and photographer, will lecture on Thursday, April 2, at 6 p.m. in the Alva deMars Megan Chapel Art Center.
Her lecture, Grace Knowlton: Artist’s Talk, will explore the evolution of her 35-year career as a modern female artist. She will discuss her work, which traverses photography, mixed media, painting, and large-scale sculpture. In conjunction with the Fine Arts Department’s one-day artist-in-residence program, Ms. Knowlton will lead two workshops for Fine Arts students on Friday, April 3.
Grace Knowlton’s work is displayed in a number of collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Cathedral of St. John Divine. Her work has also appeared around the country in public installations and group and solo exhibitions, respectively. Ms. Knowlton lives in New York City, where she teaches at the Art Students League and she is a regular visiting artist at the Vermont Studio Center.
