The New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College is looking for outstanding high school students with a passion for making a difference to attend the Civic Leadership Academy this summer.
This intensive, week-long residential program at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics is designed to help young people develop skills for civic and political leadership in New Hampshire. From July 10-18th, the Civic Leadership Academy will offer maximum of 20 students a unique opportunity to learn about state and local government through classes, workshops and lectures with college faculty and the state’s civic and political leaders. Students will be engaged in substantive study and discussion about the public policy challenges facing the state.
Last year, students held discussions with former House Speaker Donna Sytek, New Hampshire Supreme Court Justice Gary Hicks and Gov. John Lynch. Students also got to know each other, as they lived, ate and collaborated with one another. While the learning environment is rigorous, students also have ample opportunities for fun, including numerous social events and field trips.
High school teachers or administrations may nominate applicants for the program. For more information and application materials, please visit www.anselm.edu/nhiop or call 603-222-4100.
