Students who receive scholarships through the Corporate Partners Program are a fortunate group: their dream of attending the college of their choice becomes a reality and they graduate with much less debt than they otherwise would.
People who contribute to this important scholarship program are also fortunate—they know that thanks to their efforts, there will be nurses, doctors, teachers, artists, politicians, and other successful citizens helping to make New Hampshire a great place to live.
The Corporate Partners Program is a collaboration among the college and many of the state’s leading corporations, local businesses, and individuals. The main goal of the four-year-old program is to provide scholarships to top New Hampshire students with financial needs, a goal that has been met with increasing success each year. For the 2004–2005 academic year, deserving scholars will receive a total of $96,500 to help with tuition.
“I know from first-hand experience how important it is to have some type of financial aid when you’re working your way through college,” says Roger Jean ’70, president of regional agency markets for Liberty Mutual Insurance Holdings and chair of the Corporate Partners committee. A Manchester, N.H. native, he also appreciates that the program supports New Hampshire students. “I think we have a certain responsibility to participate in the development of local students who will become the future leaders of businesses in our state.”
The relationship works on many levels for the companies and individuals involved. People in the business community get to know Saint Anselm College better; network at the CEO breakfast speaker series; and connect with a select group of bright students, tapping into the next generation of professionals.
