Chairman, Saint Anselm College Board of Trustees
Dear Alumni and Friends,
As we reach the homestretch of The Campaign for Saint Anselm College, it is a great honor to report that we have concluded another successful fund-raising year. At the close of the fiscal year on June 30, the campaign had reached $46.8 million, marching ever closer to the $50 million goal. We are deeply indebted to the organizations and individuals who, this past year, contributed more than $6.1 million, making 2003–2004 one of the most successful fund-raising years Saint Anselm College has ever experienced. On behalf of the board of trustees and the entire college community, thank you for your continued support of and faith in Saint Anselm College.
In recent years the Annual Fund—a foundation of 6,000 donors—has taken on particular significance, supporting scholarships and other campus priorities such as classroom technology and instructional resources. As the largest single source of fund-raising support, the Annual Fund has, for the first time at Saint Anselm College, topped the $2 million mark. This milestone was made possible in great part by the generosity and efforts of Richard Bready, whose $250,000 matching challenge helped increase support for scholarships. I am happy to report that our alumni responded enthusiastically and met his challenge in a matter of months. I firmly believe that bright students should never be prevented from enrolling at Saint Anselm College because of their financial situation. It is comforting for me to know that so many others share this commitment to students with their generous support of scholarships.
As we look forward to celebrating the achievements associated with The Campaign for Saint Anselm College, I am reminded that the real success of this campaign is the foundation that has been established to solidify Saint Anselm’s future. It’s about our collective efforts to advance the vision of placing the college among the very best in Catholic liberal arts education.
As we enter the final days and weeks of the campaign, I want to thank my fellow trustees for their leadership and wisdom that guided this ambitious undertaking. I also want to thank the students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends for all they do to make Saint Anselm such a fine institution.
Sincerely,
Robert Weiler ’73, HD ’00
