Dear Alumni and Friends,
It is our privilege and pleasure to write to you on behalf of the board of trustees to proudly report another outstanding year in fund raising for Saint Anselm College. First and foremost, we would like to thank everybody whose generosity propelled the successes of this year. Your confi dence in a Catholic, Benedictine education—in scholarship, spirituality, and research—defines philanthropy at Saint Anselm College.
Every one of us gives because we fi rmly believe in the power of a Saint Anselm education to transform lives. In fact, as alumni, many of us know that impact fi rsthand. We now seek to support our college so that future generations will benefi t from the same wisdom and guidance that made our Anselmian education a lifelong experience.
On December 2, 2004, we celebrated the success of The Campaign for Saint Anselm College and renewed our commitment to realize the full potential of this institution. We also recognized that our work was just beginning and that some challenges remain if we are to realize Father Jonathan’s vision to become one of the fi nest Catholic liberal arts colleges in the nation.
Critical to this vision is the healthy growth of The Saint Anselm Fund. This year, your collective support reached a record $2.26 million. The Saint Anselm Fund, comprising gifts from $25 to $250,000, remains entirely student-focused, providing necessary funding for scholarship aid, academic resources and programming. The fund was further enhanced this year by trustee Richard Bready ’65, who offered the second “Bready Challenge.” More than 55 alumni and friends responded by creating or increasing annual scholarships that provided more than $475,000 in need-based fi nancial aid. Our personal thanks go to Rick and everyone who participated in this year’s challenge.
As we look confi dently toward the future, we applaud the generosity of Saint Anselm alumni, friends, faculty, staff and fellow trustees. Each person in this publication—whether featured in a story or listed on the honor roll—made a personal commitment to Saint Anselm College. Your gift represents an investment in Saint Anselm College’s future. On behalf of the board of trustees, thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Michael Sheehan ’82
